Megan Rioux, DVM

Dr. Rioux has a diverse background in both sporthorse and small animal medicine. She graduated from Colorado State University in 2012 and has since accumulated six years of experience in sporthorse medicine and another six years in small animal medicine. Dr. Rioux is also passionate about giving back to global communities and has volunteered her veterinary services abroad in Egypt, Mexico, Indonesia, Costa Rica, and at the Warm Springs Native American Reservation in Oregon.

Growing up on a small farm in Oregon, Dr. Rioux was surrounded by animals, which sparked her early interest in veterinary medicine. She spent much of her childhood assisting the family vet with tasks such as caring for young horses and bottle-raising sheep and goats. During her undergraduate studies, she developed a particular interest in public health and zoonotic diseases, which ultimately led her to pursue a veterinary degree.

Dr. Rioux is the proud owner of a 3-year-old Border Collie named Addy, and she has seven retired racehorses. When she's not caring for animals, Dr. Rioux enjoys horseback riding, traveling to far-off destinations, experimenting with new recipes, learning new languages, and engaging in dog sports like agility and herding with Addy.
